Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc.

     Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc. was founded on September 19th 1963 on the campus of Morgan State College now known as Morgan State University. Those honorable men are: Albert Hicks, Lonnie Spruill, Jr., Charles Briscoe, Frank Coakley, John Slade, Barron Willis, Webster Lewis, Charles Brown, Louis Hudnell, Charles Gregory, Elias Dorsey, Jr., and Michael Williams. Founded in the center of the the civil rights movement, the founders were looking to create an organization that was unique and dynamic enough to make a change during the hard time of the civil rights movement. That organization is now the fifth largest prominently black fraternity in the world with chapters in the United States, Japan, Korea, and Columbia.
